Columnist Speaks Truth to Power

In a state where the political winds blow from red to redder, a left-leaning view from a newspaper columnist is about as rare as someone who can’t tell you who Nick Saban or Gus Malzahn are.  But time after time, Josh Moon of the Montgomery Advertiser pulls out his pen and takes a poke at our elected leadership and their notions about how to “fix” education.

Here is his latest example.  It is a good read from a standpoint that is often silent in the Heart of Dixie.  (And since Josh is a former sportswriter, my guess is that he knows who Nick Saban and Gus Malzahn are.)

  1. It’s very exciting to read that Larry Lee’s articles have influenced someone else to pickup the torch for pubic education. I just returned from the CLAS conference in Montgomery where I heard Dr. Bill Daggett speak regarding the emerging trends that will profoundly impact the further of our students, schools and education. Interestingly enough NEVER once did his research indicate Charter Schools or any program remotely related to the Accountability Act would increase our ability to have EVERY child College and Career Ready after high school.
