In all probability, Education Week is the most widely-read source for any type news about education in the U.S.  The cover everything from technology to leadership training to what is going on in Washington and state capitals.

And one hopes that any time you are mentioned by them, it is an article that salutes some accomplishment or innovation or break through.

Unfortunately this was not the case when former Governor Robert Bentley resigned a few days ago.  Instead of being known as a solid promoter of public schools, Bentley was known nationally for being the governor who said education in his state “sucks.”
And this was duly noted in this article by Education Week.

Once again Alabama puts its worst foot forward.  Or in its mouth.
