One would think that a former Republican president would be all to happy to help his party raise money.
Unless you are Donald Trump who recently sent a letter to the national Republican party asking that they stop using his name and picture for fund-raising purposes. (He contacted other Republican groups as well with the same message.)
Trump has his own political action committee and wants people to donate to it instead.
In the ever bizarre world of Trump politics, even this is bizarre.
You are not interested in supporting the party that supported you?
More and more we are seeing that Trump is the GOPs tar baby. He wants to make his own rules–and so far seems to be doing just that.
But here is what I don’t understand. He is the only president in history to be impeached twice. He ran for president twice and did not get 50 percent of the vote either time. When he left office there were fewer Americans with jobs than when he took office. And the national debt was higher than it has ever been. Under his watch the Republicans lost control of the Senate.
With a record like this, why do the Republicans pay Trump any attention?
